The Renaissance of Whitney (#HologramTour)

Whitney 1Last night, the BIC struck gold again as they broadcast the technically brilliant #WhitneyHoustonHologramTour.

With a superb live band, energetic dancers and the digital Whitney performing on stage with such intensity and power, it felt like she was really there.  I’m aware of mixed reviews about this show, but I absolutely loved it.

As Whitney first appeared on stage in a gold full length gown belting out her 1990 hit ‘Higher Love’, I felt mixed emotions of genuine excitement to a wave of sadness and realisation that this gorgeous talented soul was really no longer with us.

My fascination with the creative talents of BASE Hologram continued throughout the show and I was in total awe of the incredible technology involved to achieve such a seamless performance.

Whitney’s hologram image included numerous costume changes and styles whilst delivering audience favourites of ‘Saving All My Love For You’, ‘Run To You’, The Greatest Love Of All’ and the ultimate crowd pleaser from the 1992 film The Bodyguard – ‘I Will Always Love You’.

Whitney collageThe 27-date show continues to tour the world and I for one feel privileged to have shared an evening with like-minded fans who left the auditorium feeling emotionally drained but equally delighted to hear (and see) the wonderful Whitney in all her glory.  I never got to see her perform live before she passed away 8 years ago, so it felt very real to me.   Thank you to the Estate of Whitney E. Houston, http://www.basehologram.com and Bournemouth International Centre.
